Carrot Ginger Juice
Carrots are naturally sweet and highly nutritious. In Macrobiotics, there's a remedy for sugar cravings that is simply fresh carrot juice and grated ginger. The dosage is just 1 cup at a time and it is gently warmed on the stove until barely above room temperature. From the TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) perspective the carrot juice with ginger goes to the pancreas and relaxes it allowing it do soften and function well. Conditions like diabetes is seen as an imbalance in the function of the spleen and pancreas. Of course, type 1 diabetes is different.
